In the vehicles engines, mainly for heavy service, another fundamental component is the cooling system. It is very importance because in a heavy system, for example, it must be capable to eliminate one third part of the heat generated by the engine; it must to be highly efficient, and this only can be obtained through a cycle free of impurities.
One of the more serious threats suffered by the cooling systems is the corrosion, caused by the mineral presence in the cooling fluids. These threats disappear by using (1) water with an appropriate level of purity, (2) high performance refrigerant fluids (3) corrosion inhibiting chemicals and other injurious processes, and (4) filters that guarantee the maximum particles retention in the system.
